Start the day with breakfast and a guided tour of Medellín, known as the “City of Eternal Spring.” The city has undergone significant transformation in the last twenty years, turning into a modern example of urban development. The tour will cover the city’s history, including its past association with Pablo Escobar and gang violence. Highlights include a visit to Plaza Botero, featuring sculptures by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, and a ride on the MetroCable to Santo Domingo, a neighborhood that has experienced positive changes. The tour will also include a visit to Comuna 13 to see how innovative projects, such as escalators, have enhanced the residents’ quality of life. Your day will conclude with a traditional lunch and a tour of the historic center.

In the morning, you will have the opportunity to visit an agroecological farm in Medellín with the three most important agroecological certifications in the country: Certificate of trade products, Certification in high-quality agroecological products, and Rainforest Alliance Certification of high standards. You will learn about food sovereignty and where the food you consume comes from. Participate in a healthy cooking workshop using the products harvested organically on the farm to prepare delicious and healthy dishes to share.
In the afternoon, you will learn about Colombian coffee culture at a coffee farm in the mountains of Medellín. You’ll understand the daily life of a coffee farmer in Colombia, walk through the plantations, and learn all about coffee – from the plant to the cup! It’s an impressive opportunity to witness rural life so close to the urban metropolis.

In the morning, after breakfast, we will depart to the east of the department to visit one of the main reservoirs in Colombia. The reservoir generates a large amount of energy for local consumption and export and is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of hills around its emerald-green waters. We will then visit the Piedra del Peñol, a gigantic monolith. After climbing 750 steps, you’ll have an impressive panoramic view of the reservoir and its surrounding area. The tour continues to the picturesque town of Guatapé, where you can take photographs in its colorful streets.
