Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Bogotá

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a professional guide and transferred to your hotel. 

You will stay at a selected hotel.

Day 2: Bogotá City Tour

Welcome to Bogotá, Colombia’s capital and largest city, ideal for all types of visitors. During the Bogotá city tour, you will experience the territory’s past, present, and future.

Your day will start with breakfast and a visit to the tourist attractions of the La Candelaria Historical Center.

You will stay at a selected hotel.

Includes: Private transportation from the hotel to the city center (for passengers staying in the north of the City), professional guide, tickets to the Gold Museum (closed on Mondays*), Botero Museum (closed on Tuesdays*), and Monserrate, lunch, snack, breakfast, and selected accommodation.

*Alternatively, visit the Museum of Bogotá.

Day 3: Bogotá - Salt Cathedral - Medellín

Start the day with breakfast, followed by a visit to the Salt Cathedral in Zipaquirá. After that, transfer to the airport for a flight (not included) to Medellín. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a professional guide and transferred to the hotel.

Day 4: Medellín City of Eternal Spring

Start the day with breakfast and a tour of Medellín, which is known as the “City of Eternal Spring” and is currently one of the most innovative cities in Latin America. Its recent past was heavily influenced by Pablo Escobar and violent gang disputes. However, in the last twenty years, Medellín has undergone drastic changes due to an innovative urban development program, transforming it into a modern example of urban transformation. This process has left behind the violence that once classified it as the most dangerous city in the world in the 1990s. Discover the history of Medellín and enjoy panoramic views of the city. Explore the famous Plaza Botero, which features an exhibition by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, known for his sculptures that have become symbols of the city. Take the MetroCable to Santo Domingo, a neighborhood that was once plagued by gang violence. Lastly, visit Comuna 13 and see how escalators, another innovative project, have improved the quality of life for its residents.

Day 5: Guatapé and Piedra del Peñol

Start the day with breakfast and head east of the department to visit one of the main reservoirs in Colombia, which generates a large amount of energy for local consumption and export and is also surrounded by a beautiful landscape of hills around its emerald green waters. Visit the Piedra del Peñol, a gigantic monolith that offers an impressive panoramic view of the reservoir and the surrounding area after climbing 750 steps. The tour continues to the picturesque town of Guatapé, where you can take a walk and capture photographs in its colorful streets.

Day 6:Medellín - Cartagena

Breakfast and transfer to the airport for the flight to Cartagena (not included). Upon arrival, a professional guide will meet you and transfer you to the hotel.

In the afternoon, an exploration of the local cuisine offers an authentic way to learn about the culture of the area. This will involve tasting various street foods, allowing you to experience the real Cartagena and interact with street vendors. The tour will cover a wide range of foods, including tropical fruits, stuffed arepas, empanadas, and more. It is recommended to notify in advance in case of allergies or dietary restrictions.

Day 7: Cartagena City Tour

Our tour starts with a transfer from the Historic Center to the Popa Convent, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Next, we will visit the largest fortress built by the Spanish in South America, the San Felipe de Barajas fort, and explore some of its tunnels and the statue of Don Blas de Lezo. After that, we will head to the center of Cartagena to stroll through its main streets and squares.

The guide will share interesting facts about the history of Cartagena, including legends and pirate stories. You will have the opportunity to explore the Historic Center with an expert guide who will provide detailed insights into the past and present of Cartagena, as you visit landmarks such as the Clock Tower and the statue of Don Pedro de Heredia, the city’s founder, as well as less crowded areas of the old city.

Throughout the tour, you will experience the various influences—romantic, Moorish, colonial, military, Arab, Spanish, and North American—that have shaped Cartagena. Additionally, the guide will lead you through the Palace of the Inquisition, one of the city’s most emblematic buildings, and the Sanctuary of San Pedro Claver, in honor of the Spanish priest and missionary known as the “Slave of slaves” for his dedication to Africans brought as slaves to the Spanish colonies.

Day 8: Barú Island

Start your day with breakfast and then head to the dock for transfer. You will spend a fantastic day at the Barú Islands, near Cartagena. After a 60-minute journey, you’ll arrive at the Isla del Encanto hotel, located in the Corales del Rosario Park. It’s an ideal destination for families or anyone looking to enjoy a day on the island. The hotel offers a large swimming pool, a diverse lunch buffet, and comfortable beach chairs. It’s the perfect place to have fun and relax at the same time.

The trip includes transportation by speedboat or bus, depending on the number of people. 

Includes: Private transfer Hotel – Dock – Hotel, welcome drink, typical lunch with a drink, use of beach and resort facilities, round-trip speedboat transportation* with other passengers, breakfast and the selected accommodation

*Note:

By boat: more than 20 people depart in speed boats

By bus: less than 20 people depart by land to the town of Barú and then a 5-minute boat ride to the island.

Day 9: Cartagena

Take the day off and enjoy the amenities of your accommodation.

Day 10: Cartagena - End of services

Have breakfast and transfer to the airport for an international flight (flight not included) back home.

  • Please be aware that the rate is subject to change depending on the availability on the day of confirmation.
  • The itinerary is subject to change based on weather conditions.

Policies

Reservations and Payment Policies

  • Reservations can be held for 72 hours without payment.
  • If the booking is made less than twenty days before the travel date, full payment of the package is required.
  • For bookings made more than twenty days in advance, after Parce Travel confirms hotel availability, a 30% deposit of the package is due, and the remaining balance must be paid in full at least 20 days before the travel date.

Change policies

  • All changes are subject to hotel and service availability.
  • If the change is due to last-minute modifications in air operations, transport strikes, marches, extreme weather that hinders the completion of activities, etc., Parce Travel Colombia may reschedule services when possible. However, the client will be liable to pay for any additional costs incurred due to changes in operation, route, or date. The client may also forfeit services they are unable to take on the same day as the flight, land travel, or activity, according to the contracted itinerary.

Cancellation and Refund Policies

Cancellation Penalty:

  • 15 days before travel date: 0% penalty
  • 8 days before travel date: 50% penalty
  • 3 days before travel date: 80% penalty
  • On the day of travel or no-show: 100% penalty

Money Refunds:

  • In case of a money refund, the client will assume the 4×1,000 and financial costs.
  • If changes or cancellations are related to force majeure or proven fortuitous events, the penalty amount may decrease based on decisions from the providers.
  • Any money refund to the client will be processed within a maximum period of 30 calendar days.
  • Policies for changes and cancellations also apply when the passenger has not paid the full program amount by the stipulated dates. The passenger accepts that failure to pay the total program cost by the due date will be considered as a cancellation of the plan.
